The Dark Knight Returns is a story of one man's journey to discovering his true self and finding comfort within it. Conflicted throughout most of his life, Bruce Wayne is sucked back into the lifestyle and calling he had given up decades earlier. In this artwork, Miller radicalized superhero cinema. The juxtaposition of TV talking heads with super-hero action set up an atmosphere where there are two different realities simultaneously occurring in our world: one being the DC comic books universe and another being reality for those who do not believe or understand how superheroes function beyond just fighting against criminals to protect humanity as a whole.
Paying homage to one of the greatest comics of all time, Tango has featured artwork from the Dark Knight Returns. With world-renowned artwork by Frank Miller, Tango selected some of the most iconic pieces of artwork to create the DC Batman jacket.
