2021 marks the first of its kind publishing event, featuring Batman stories by top creative teams from across the globe, taking place in their home countries. To celebrate the launch, we've teamed up with the legendary, DC Comics team, for a special capsule highlighting the different artworks by the Comic artist from several countries including the USA, Mexico, China, Japan, Turkey, and Russia.
We'll be celebrating the Comic release with a limited-edition collection of apparel highlighting key artwork from the Batman: The World edition. We will be highlighting each artist, their cover artwork, and their background story.
Artist Behind the Turkish Cover: Ethem Onur Bilgi
Born in 1986 in Turkey, Ethem Onur Bilgic studied Graphic Design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Ethem began his role at Ithaki Publishing as an art director where he produced illustrations for magazines, book covers and designing posters for festivals, theater halls, and movies. He, later on, began creating short films that have won several awards. Ethem's illustrations have also landed him numerous national and international exhibitions. He was featured as one of the top 100 best illustrators around the world in Taschen (Publisher of Comics and Art). He continues to work in his studio in Istanbul where he created his rendition of Batman: The World Turkey.
